Peterborough Minor Football League (KMFL) Receives Jumpstart Sport Relief Fund Grant
Along with Jumpstart, we understand the role sport plays in the health and well-being of youth and their families, and are doing everything possible to help community sports continue.
Last year, with the support of CTC, Jumpstart Charities dispersed $8 million through its Sport Relief Fund, helping nearly 700 organizations continue to operate through 2020. With Canadian Tire Corporation’s commitment of an additional $12 million to Jumpstart’s Sport Relief Fund in 2021, together we’ll help build back communities through sport and play.
As one of nearly 300 sport & recreation organizations across Canada to receive grant funding from Jumpstart’s Sport Relief Fund this year, the continued need for support is apparent. As a recipient, we would like to send our congratulations to all the other recipients who will enjoy the benefits this grant will provide their organizations to better sport & recreation in their communities.
With Jumpstart’s support, we will be able to pay off some equipment debt we could not pay as a result of shutting down programming due to Covid-19. Having these bills taken care of will allow us to expand our program offering with Spring and Fall Coed Flag Football Leagues starting in 2021. With the help from Jumpstart we will be able to keep our program fees affordable as well. This, coupled with the new programming, will help ensure that the KMFL is able to provide football programming to youth in the Peterborough and Area community for years to come.
